Long-term street parking in the Belmont Trace neighborhood is strictly prohibited. Very simply, it causes major safety concerns as it causes a narrowing of the streets and creates massive blindspots around turns. According to the Belmont Trace Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions section 6.15,
“Vehicles of any type shall not be parked on any subdivision street for periods of more than twenty four (24) continuous hours (the intent of this provision is that vehicles may not be parked or stored on subdivision streets except on a temporary basis and the temporary removal of a vehicle from a subdivision street to break the continuity of the twenty four (24) consecutive hours shall not be sufficient to establish compliance with this restriction.)”
This means that vehicles should not regularly be parked on any of the roads of our subdivision streets. Of course we expect you to allow visitors and landscaping companies to park outside of your home for brief periods of time, but please be mindful of where they park so we do not create any dangerous driving situations.
If your vehicle is noted as being parked in the street for more than 24 hours, or for two or more consecutive nights (because moving your car to go to work or somewhere else during the day does not “reset the clock” on that 24 hour period), you will receive a warning under the windshield wiper of your vehicle and the instance will be documented. After the initial warning, should the instance happen again, the homeowner will be subject to a formal written violation from the management company in addition to fees.
What about overnight visitors? We ask that all overnight visitors attempt to park in your driveway OR find an open spot at the pool parking lot to leave their car during their visit. Overnight street parking for guests will be tolerated for a maximum of one (1) night. After that, a violation notice will be placed on that vehicle and a notation will be made as to which house the car was associated with.
Please keep in mind that should you choose to utilize the pool parking lot for overnight visitors, please contact the Board with the license plate number of the vehicle in order to avoid being towed.
If you feel you have received a warning in error or if you have any questions concerning parking in Belmont Trace, please direct those questions or concerns to the Board by clicking on the contact button at the top of the page. Thank you!
